Jewel's victims are passed off as casualties of Duterte's war on drugs. But Jewel is no cold-blooded killer, she's a manananggal - a vampire-like creature whose body splits in half and who sprouts bat-like wings. Jewel picks her victims from the dregs of society yet desperately seeks human contact. The answer may be the lonely Nico who moves into her apartment building.
